Ice-maker is awesome. The space and options for storage are also better than ample. I've used the turbo-cool several times! The only negative is that the water dispenser is awkward and slow. It takes almost a full minute to fill my 24 oz mug.

I will start with I love the looks of the refrigerator. That being said, the inside water dispenser is not really something I would use and to have to shut the water off to change the filter is not easy for people in their 80s, therefore we will not be using the inside water dispenser. For the big issue, we have had this refrigerator for 2 weeks and on day 11 we noticed the ice had melted into a sold mass of chunky ice. We raised the temp and thought it was better and now I sit here waiting for a repair person on day 13. I am not very happy about that. We travel a lot and I fear a leak will happen when we are gone. Stay tuned for an update. This will prove just how good GE is about warranty and repair what could be a "lemon"!

CHEAP CHEAP QUALITY!!

When this was delivered I was visibly shocked at how poor the quality was! I've gotten used to everything getting increasingly worse but this new model is so utterly cheap that it seems like a toy. EVERYTHING on this is cheap, thin, noxious plastic! It is STILL offgassing after a week. There's no way this thing outlasts its warranty and I doubt it even makes it to the end of the warranty period without pieces breaking off. My last GE fridge was excellent, this one is garbage and I'm seriously considering returning it. I can't even get magnets to stick the outside "metal" parts because this is primarily plastic! The control panels are cheaper and have less functionality. The entire interior is plastic there are no metal clips or hooks anymore for the shelves. The entire refrigerator is much smaller & cheaper than the model it was supposed to replace, even though I was told this was a direct replacement for the model I previously had...it's not. The plastic on this is so thin, I know the drawers, shelves and baskets will break soon. Even the three prong plug power cord looks like it was taken from a cheap extension cord and put on this as a power cord. Every square inch of this refrigerator is lower quality and made of cheaper materials than the refrigerator it is replacing, at the same or higher price. This is the last time I buy GE. As a loyal GE appliance owner, ALL my large kitchen appliances were GE. I still have some small GE appliances from the 60s. It simply is not the same company, since being bought by a foreign company.

I love the configuration. It is the same refrigerator that I previously had, so I love most things about it. What I didn't appreciate was needed to buy a new one after only 4 years because the other one stopped keeping the food cold. Something that you need in a refrigerator, and the reason you buy one! Hopefully this one will last longer, and I won't need to buy a new one. If I do, it defiantly won't be another GE.

I™€™m sure we will be very happy with our new refrigerator because it™€™s exactly like the one we replaced after 10 years. The condenser went bad.. The reason why we got A new one was because the compressor cost the same as a new refrigerator so it was pretty much a no-brainer. The staff at Spencer appliances was wonderful and so we™€™re the man that delivered the refrigerator. Also we have slate stove, microwave and dishwasher. We found out the didn™€™t carry the slate color, but the company said they would have one by December, and they came through. So very happy with GE.

this refrigerator size is great for me and my family. my last fridge was a 2020 replacement for one that died and there weren't too many options then. it was side by side - my dream of a refridgerator but I learned the freezer, although much easier access, seemed to narrow for a lot of items. I prefer that there is no water/ice on the outside of this fridge and really wish there wasn't water inside (now that my family found the spout). I still struggle with the accesibility of the freezer in a bottom drawer and the ice often drops behind and under the freezer drawer. kind of odd to me.

Terrible experience ongoing

Purchased this suite of appliances less than 6 years ago from our local dealer. We loved the fridge until this past spring when it was not keeping cold. It took multiple repair visits including an error on the part of the repair person. We were told they had trouble with the fans, and a ™€œnew and improved ™€œ fan was finally installed. After multiple visits, that last visit in September (!) seemed to do the trick until this week™€"the week before Thanksgiving (!!) when the same issue is occurring. I can™€™t even begin to describe our frustration!!!! We do have an old fridge in the garage but should NOT KEEP HAVING TO USE IT BECAUSE THIS ONE IS BROKEN!! We have found absolutely NO satisfaction in this issue. At this point I would never recommend this fridge. Unfortunately the slate color is only in the GE line so we will likely end up having to purchase a new fridge that doesn™€™t match our suite™€"all due to no fault of our own. Ugh. This has been an absolute nightmare

Excellent Refrigeration But Weak Shelves

The fridge is very reliable for maintaining refrigerated or frozen items. Ice maker is excellent. It does run noisier than other fridges we™€™ve owned though. And the water filter is not inexpensive to replace twice yearly. My biggest concern is the quality of the shelving. Our fridge is only 2 years old and the plastic frame of the sliding shelf has already broken. Not sure what a replacement shelf will cost yet.

Purchased four years ago in 2021. All refrigerators seem to have a knocking sound especially when the compressor starts up. This one has gotten quieter over time, and I hardly notice it now. The doors have a toggle point past which they close, so you don't have to worry about leaving the door open a half-inch. From the serial number plate: Model GNE27JMMNFES, 120 Volts, 60 Hz, 1.53 Amps. Defrost Heater 445 Watts. Icemaker 145 Watts. Energy Star model. The manual says it takes the XWF water filter. That's wrong. It doesn't work. It requires the XWFE water filter.

I do have one big concern, I™€™m getting ice buildup in the fridge. The ice starts inside top back the builds on bottom fridge shelf and into the drawer. Not sure how to solve this problem as of yet.

The thermometer for the refrigerated section often resets itself on its own. I have had vegetables freeze in their compartment when the refrigerator is set for 37 degrees. The left door sometimes does not align and slams into the doo jamb.

Refrigerator works well at cooling but the freezer portion makes incredibly loud noises due to a design flaw. After several months of use ice accumulation on the fan and motor make it rattle and grind so loud that it can be heard outside my home. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Our previous refrigerator was used and not in the best shape. We purchased this one because it had such great value and looked very nice. It has over 27 SQ feet of storage and right away, I can tell that so much more will fit (when comparing to our previous fridge). It was set up and immediately got cold. Within the standard 24 hours, even the freezer was cold enough to keep everything frozen. It seriously has added so much to our house and we are extremely satisfied with our purchase.

We love it! The size is just what we needed very roomy for being an extra one for the garage. It will be nice to be able to put food in out there to keep everyone in the shop and out of the house on the weekends.

My refrigerator is wonderful so far!

I love my new refrigerator. I™€™ve only had it for one week. So far so good! It™€™s much larger than the Frigidaire we had, considering the Frigidaire was a side-by-side. I love the depth of the freezer drawers, and I love the amount of ice it makes.

I absolutely love this fridge! I waited months to write this review to be sure everything held up and it most certainly did! The drawer design in the freezer is perfect for organization of meets from veggies and air fryer foods. The ice tray in the freezer is a great size to keep items from falling in. Then in the fridge area I love the convertible shelving to be able to store additional gallon drinks or large dish leftovers. My favorite it the in door storage shelving. It™€™s thick and durable! I™€™ve had issues with other fridges the plastic breaking in the door shelving. There™€™s so much space it™€™s incredible! I truly love this refrigerator and it™€™s easy to keep clean! I have 5 grown kids and a blue collar husband. This was important! The only thing is I wish the handles were the same finish as the rest of the fridge. And I love the alarm letting you know the fridge is open because not everyone shuts it all the way sometimes. And I can hear if my kids are standing there looking for too long like something new will appear. I was skeptical about the placement of the water dispenser but I use it every day and love it too! This fridge is perfect for my large family.

works well. wish the water filler had a bit more room for coffee pots, ect, hose is very close to side of fridge so water glass is all that will fit between side of fridge and outlet for water. once its froze up, the wheels in the freezer drawer squeek when the freezer door is opened.
